You can use WordPress to create an online news site or magazine. This free theme was designed to be used with a handy plugin called “Sideposts Widget“. With it you display posts from a featured category on the sidebar. Optionally they can include a thumnail.

The theme was designed with 3 columns. The left sidebar is wider than the right to give the Sideposts Widget room to display a nice group of articles. Center column displays your other posts and the right sidebar can be used as you wish.

Theme also includes a full width page template and another page template to allow comments on pages that you choose to. A Custom Error page with site index and a customizable footer option.

This theme could be tailored for use by clubs and associations that need to publish news and events for it’s members. Even businesses could take advantage of this theme as a full business website.
