Another Free WordPress Theme

Here is a specialized WordPress Theme I call the Video Blog.

This theme allows you to post videos to the sidebar for pages and posts by adding a custom field and your YouTube or other video embed code when you publish them.   The video will appear in your sidebar above your chosen widgets.

There are many different ways you can set WordPress up to display the content you have, the way you want it seen.  Using WordPress you display your website content as “pages” and “posts”.

Pages contain information that you want displayed on your site such as an “About Us” page and “Contact Info”.   Any other standard information, photo galleries, contact forms, or event listings can be a fixed page on your website. Pages are displayed on a menu bar or in your sidebar.

Posts are your news articles, announcements or blog posts.  Posts can be assigned catagories and tags so they can be displayed in a sorted fashion.  Posts are what normally get displayed on the home page but you can set your WordPress site up to have a fixed page as your home page and a seperate page to display your news or blog.

Making A Static Home Page and Posts Page in WordPress

WordPress has come a long, long way and with it’s built in features and some select plugins you can create all kinds of websites.  WordPress is an excellent engine for Business or Corporate websites and your site will include the blog function you can use to post news and announcements.

You can even build a perfect CMS (Content Management System) to organize your information and make it available to your clients and visitors in different ways.

Using a Static Home Page with your WordPress site is useful when creating these kinds of sites along with a static page used to show your blog or news page.  You can even create a special “home page template” to make your home page look unique.
