A new version of WordPress was released yesterday to correct a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade.

Another security issue has been discovered and patched. Upgrade your WordPress installations as soon as possible to avoid any possible problems.

WordPress was made pretty secure with the release of version 2.8.4. This new version is called a “hardening release”. It re-addresses the previous security issues and a couple of other things that needed tightening.

Older versions of WordPress are being attacked!  You should upgrade to the latest version immediately.  The newest version is not susceptible to the type of attacks that are occurring.   Read about the attacks and what you should do if you’ve already been stung here.
