Artisteer 2.5 still preliminary
Artisteer 2.5 is still a preliminary release and does contain some bugs and glitches. If you decide to try it remember just that. Check out the Artisteer Forum to see the types of problems still to be worked out. If you want a very stable version get the latest 2.4 release and you can create your templates with confidence and ease. If you purchase version 2.4 you will be able to upgrade later or like me you can load both versions on your computer and play with 2.5 all you want. To install both versions you say no to deleting the previous version and then change the directory name that you install too. This way you can run the stable version and experiment with the new one.
Artisteer 2.4
It looks like Artisteer is getting ready to release version 2.4. After a couple of beta releases they feel that they are almost ready to release a stable version. The new version has many new features and enhancements like a vertical menu, more page layout options and some flash overlays for the header. New Artisteer Version Page Issues
One thing we found with the new Artisteer version 2.3 is that by default Pages allow comments. You can disable allowing comments when you create your page but then you still get the “Comments are closed” notice at the bottom of the page. What we do is create a new page template by copying the “page.php” file and renaming it “page-comments.php” . You have to add the following code to the top of the new page-comments.php file.
<?php /* Template Name: Page Comments */ ?>
Then we edit the “page.php” file and remove the following line.
<?php comments_template(); ?>
So now your default page template has no comments at all, and if you want a page to have comments you just select your new page-comments template when creating your page. We do this with many other themes also. Not only Artisteer.
Artisteer 2.2 Released
Artisteer has released a new version. Final Version 2.2 is now available for download and is a free upgrade to current registered user. It fixes up some issues that have been discovered over the past few months and adds some new features also. You can read all about it on their website. http://www.artisteer.com/Default.aspx?p=news
Latest Changes To Artisteer
Artisteer released a new beta version recently that has corrected a few issues. The footer problem of not being able to surround your url’s with quotes has been resolved along with the big button effect to the “Read More” put into your long posts. I do have to say that they keep upgrading this software at a pretty rapid pace so if your a user of this great web development tool stay up to date and check their website often.
Corp Grey WordPress Themes
I came up with two new WordPress themes to give away.
These are both set up for use as a WordPress driven website for a Corporation or Business but could be used for anything. Various page templates let you have options when creating pages of information for your associates, employees and visitors. For your staff you can post and make available things like policy manuals, insurance forms, requesitions, schedules and for clients you can have newsletters, product news, service announcements, order forms and more.
The theme was created with Atristeer software and then tweaked to our liking.
